For our unit on rhetoric, my 11th grade English class analyzed Justin Baldoni's TEDTalk "Why I'm done being 'man enough'". Using the PAPAS structure (Purpose, Argument, Person/Ethos, Audience, and Strategies (Rhetoric)) to analyze the speech. Students had to answer one question in each section and there had to be at least two responses for each question. I chose to use Padlet because students are able to easily view other work and learn from their peers. As this was a formative activity for an essay later, this information would also help some students who were maybe struggling with a concept, they could collaborate and learn from their peers.
